Business Administration apprentice, Josh Desforges, has been successful in the recruitment process and has started his career as a Help Desk Administrator in the Facilities & Estates department at Lincoln College.
Josh started in the team 18-months ago and has shown full commitment and drive for the role throughout his apprenticeship, and has now successfully secured a job after applying for a full time position.
Josh said: “My team offered me a lot of support with the apprenticeship and it really helped that the majority of my colleagues had completed the same qualification.
“The support I received from my Lincoln College assessor was really good, they were happy to answer any queries that I had on anything at all and the college’s training manager was always on hand to offer guidance.”
Josh is now looking ahead and aims to further his career in facilities management.
To anyone considering an apprenticeship Josh said: “If you want to continue to develop yourself academically but you don’t deal very well with exams or a classroom setting, an apprenticeship is definitely the route to take.
“Apprenticeships offer something that you can’t get from standard classroom learning.
“It is a brilliant way to get your foot in the door of the working-world with many businesses wanting you to have some experience in this environment and an apprenticeship is the best way to get that.”
