Now, after working as part of the Digital Engagement Team for nearly six months, Lawrence is set to join the College fulltime.
And he says he’s delighted to be joining in his new role within the Apprenticeships Team.
“I found out about Kickstart during a period of unemployment due to Covid,” said Lawrence. “I found out on the Universal Credit website that Lincoln College had positions going and I applied.”
Lawrence made enquiries about the vacancies and after visiting Lincoln College to find out more, attended an interview and was successful.
“I’m currently a Trainee Digital Engagement Officer, until August 9, when I’ll move over to the Apprenticeships Engagement Team, which I’m extremely happy about.”
Lawrence said the Kickstart scheme helped him get interviewed and the scheme gave him the support he needed at every point along the way.
“With Kickstart, Lincoln College was welcoming and supportive. I think, in retrospect, I may have forever been in the loop of ‘apply, reject, apply, reject’ had it not been for the open invitation of opportunity that Kickstart offered me.”
Gemma Skaley, Commercial Manager Lincoln College, said: “We're delighted Lawrence is joining us fulltime following his Kickstart placement.
