More than 40 individuals attended the workshop, tackling the myths and impacts of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as the changes come into effect next month.
Stefanie Jacobs, Technical Solutions Professional at Microsoft said “We should treat data like we would treat our own bank account details.”
“GDPR is a positive thing, for the protection of us as individuals and our families which is pathing the way for the future as we predict increased regulations around data security; which means we need to embrace this change.”
Abigail Williams, Lead Business Analysist at risual Education said “GDPR is not about getting a tick in a box, but about a journey to compliance and improving standards overall.
“It is great to see how engaged businesses are with GDPR, rather than seeing these changes as a blocker. There have been some really interesting discussions.
“The take up has been really positive and we hope to run another interactive session before 25 May at Lincoln College.”
