Lincoln College takes away the stress of college application

January 22 2018

Since October 2017, Lincoln College have been piloting a new streamline application and acceptance process to give students and parents early peace of mind when choosing their next steps in education and training.

Once you have decided upon the course you would like to study, students can make their application online via the Lincoln College website, and will then be invited to attend a scheduled Welcome Day.

During the Welcome Day, applicants attend their one-to-one and group interviews with the tutors of their chosen courses with the aim to receive a conditional offer on the same day – taking away any additional stress or need to return to the college in a short period of time. Welcome days include tours of workshops, classroom and social environments, along with course talks by tutors. Curriculum areas also carry out related assessments and activities to gauge suitability during the Welcome Days. Since September, 257 of our applicants have received conditional offers so far and are ready to begin their learning at Lincoln College in September 2018.

For those individuals who are made a ‘no offer’ during their Welcome Day interview an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) appointment referral will be made where additional support and expert advice will be offered from a professional independent careers advisor whom will be able to discuss alternative paths to training and employment available to them.

So far more than 300 interviews have taken place with students ready to enrol on their course – enhancing the overall Learner Journey for students and their families applying to study with Lincoln College.
