From vegan grub to vinyl records – the College welcomed local businesses from across Lincoln.
Companies included The Mint Box, The Kind Kebab, Eskimoo, Back to Mono Records, Rock Retro vintage clothing, JUMP Inc, Access Lincoln, Royal Air Force, Escape Lincoln, Mind and many more.
The Lincoln campus was also transformed with a giant sofa, deck chairs and colourful bean bags creating ‘chill-out’ areas for students
The College also gave away free re-usable bottles to students to encourage them to drink more water and save plastic and the planet by filling them up at water stations across the campus.
A-level student and new starter Grace Lee said: “I’ve really enjoyed my first week at Lincoln College.
“The BIG Welcome is such a cool idea. There’s lots happening on campus and everyone is really friendly and helpful. I’m really looking forward to studying at here!”
Mark Locking Managing Director for Education and Training at Lincoln College said: “There’s been a real buzz around our campuses this week and I’ve enjoyed seeing so many happy students.
“It’s so important that our new students feel comfortable and welcome at the college so they can make friends quickly, develop strong working relationships with staff and become engaged and highly motivated in their learning quickly.
“We want students to share the feelings of our staff and that as part of the Lincoln College “family” they too love our colleges
“We are a large institution that generates great opportunities for jobs and further study that many others are simply not able to provide - but the health, well-being and happiness of our students remains paramount.
“It has been great to see so many staff and students enjoying all of the new activities in place this year that make up the BIG Welcome to kick off what I am sure will be an exciting and productive year.
