Liquorice Park Greenspace Project

May 04 2017

Lincoln College students help the local community in supporting the regeneration of Liquorice Park.

The continued work on the regeneration of Liquorice Park has taken a step forward through a collaboration between Lincoln College and the Millennium Green Trust. Twelve construction students have spent the past two weeks replacing the entrance steps and paving.

Carpentry and Joinery Instructor Graham Stanney said: “This is valuable work experience for our students, I think we should celebrate the fact we are working within the local community”

“The project has provided the opportunity for students to further their skills in a number of areas.”

Richard Bett, the originator of the park visited during the work and was thrilled such a sensitive job had been done.

He said: “I am certainly most proud of what your tutors and students have achieved at Liquorice Park. It is wonderful to be able to tell local residents and park users that Lincoln College have been responsible for doing such a great job.”

“The way the “WELCOME” letters were reinstated meant a great deal to people who had know and loved the park since the early days.  Congratulations and my heartfelt thanks.”

The College’s work on the new entrance steps has now been completed and the site is ready to be enjoyed by the public.
