Local Enterprise Partnership and District Council Chief Execs tour Newark and Lincoln Colleges during #LoveOurColleges Week

May 15 2019

We’re celebrating the Association of Colleges #LoveOurColleges Week by sharing a Week in the Life of Lincoln College. The week of action is designed to demonstrate why the Chancellor should ensure meaningful and sustainable investment in colleges in his comprehensive spending review. So we’ll be talking about the social and economic value we add through education and training all week.

Association of Colleges #LoveOurColleges Week

D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership Chief Exec Sajeeda Rose and Newark and Sherwood District Council Chief Exec John Robinson toured both sites and discussed a new vision for Newark College.

Lincoln College Group CEO Gary Headland led a discussion around the need to develop and expand Newark College in the context of a challenging funding landscape for Further Education.

Mr Headland said: “We were delighted to host Sajeeda and John today and we look forward to working really closely with them to develop Newark College.

“We spent time looking at our Air and Defence College, our digital apprenticeships centre and our Higher Education Centre at Lincoln College and then went over to Newark College to discuss how we might replicate similar developments there.

“It was great to spend time with Sajeeda and John and share our vision for the development of Newark College to meet the needs of local employers.”

D2N2 Chief Executive Sajeeda Rose said: “It was fascinating to see the breadth of training provision and commercial activity taking place across the Group and to see the vision for Newark College. We look forward to working with Gary and his team to support their ambitions in future.”
