Lincoln College has been working alongside Lincolnshire Police to open the group’s new Policing College.
The Policing College opened its doors last year and offers a new training scheme to recruit more officers and to also retrain staff.
It has also been designed to create a pathway to police support roles.
The College also offers a degree programme that allows students to serve as special constables while studying and ultimately leads to police officer roles.
The Police College was set up to help in a nationwide recruitment drive and is part of an ongoing commitment by Lincoln College Group to support and train people for job roles within the community.
James Foster, Managing Director - International and Commercial, at Lincoln College Group, said the success of The Policing College is down to working closely with Lincolnshire Police.
“Over the last few years Lincoln College has introduced a range of what we call Career Colleges, in which the curriculum is designed hand in hand with local employers - an example of this is our new Policing College that we launched in 2019,” said James.
“We were privileged to have been able to work closely with Lincolnshire Police to develop a curriculum that really meets their needs for the future and that means recruiting new police officers and back office support staff, such as emergency call handlers.”
Lincoln College Group continues to work alongside industry and its key partners, providing courses and training that really create pathways to careers.
There are still a limited number of places left on our policing degree programme.
