Lincoln College Group is leading an exciting collaboration to develop the country’s first International Air and Space Training Institute (IASTI).
The Group is working with its industry partners to develop the Institute, which will be the first of its kind in the country. It hopes to bid for a share of the £3.6bn Government Towns Fund and if successful will build the training facility in Newark.
Tom Marsden, Director of Strategic Growth at Lincoln College Group, said: “Working with Aviation 360, Newark and District Council and industry partners, the Institute will transform the way pilots, engineers and ground staff are trained to meet the needs of the aviation industry.
“The Institute’s innovative pathways are integrated into the Post-16 education system and have been designed with industry partners to allow students to progress straight into the workplace.”
Building on the success of its Air and Defence College, Lincoln College Group is also working closely with the RAF to ensure students can progress into a success military career.
“The Institute will be in Newark, with its excellent regional and national transport links,” said Tom. “It will also boost the wider economy, bringing students in from across the UK to study higher qualifications and degree-level courses in Newark.”
