The competition sees Maths students aged 16 to 19 from across the UK face challenging questions in exam conditions at schools and colleges nationwide.
Ten A-Level Maths students took part in the challenge and achieved an impressive three gold, four silver and two bronze certificates.
The students far exceeded national results which sees only 60% of students receive certificates with only 10% achieving gold.
Mathematic Lecturer, Adam Jones, said:
“I am immensely proud of the students’ results. To commit to such a demanding and rigorous challenge alongside a full timetable of study, not to mention completing UCAS applications and partaking in work placements, is a testament to their drive to achieve success.
“I have always known this cohort is exceptionally gifted but their results have exceeded all my expectations. Additionally, three of the students had scores high enough complete the follow on round, the Senior Kangaroo, and the Senior Kangaroo results are expected this month.”
A2-Level student Jacob Andrews said:
“The challenge is an excellent way to broaden your skills in solving linear problems. I would recommend the challenge to all students next year!”
