The Veg Out brand, founded by art lecturer Gemma Whitelock, was established in June 2018 as a result of a gap in the market locally.
The Business is a family run food service offering vegan grub for local delivery but also caters for events. You can find out more here.
Staff and students can ‘Veg Out’ at the new eatery with hopes for it to become open to the public outside of term time.
Gemma said: “The space was being used as a storage room for old machinery and I thought it was such a waste.
“The café was set up at the Christ's Hospital Terrace site after feedback from students requesting somewhere to sit outside of lesson time.
“We’re a vegan friendly café but generally just sell tasty food – something many people get a bit scared of when the ‘V’ word is mentioned!”
Fashion student Tia Thopradit said: “It’s so convenient and now we have somewhere to sit and eat – as well as it being a chilled out study environment.”
