Jenny celebrated her achievement with some of her colleagues at the black tie Awards Ceremony, which took place in Newark Castle’s grounds on Friday 8th November.
The Education Award was open to individuals who demonstrate outstanding educational success or support within a learning environment. Judges were looking for an individual that selflessly strives to go the extra mile to support students, who inspires other to want to achieve better and who gives to others without a thought of return.
Advanced Curriculum Coach, Penny Taylor, who nominated Jenny said: “Jenny is a highly valued member of the team at Newark College and she consistently goes above and beyond to deliver on all elements of the criteria identified by the panel.
“Jenny is an inspiration, not only to students but also to staff and her award and recognition is thoroughly deserved. Jenny has personally had a difficult six months and through this adversity still provides an outstanding commitment to Newark College.”
Jenny said: “When I received the call I was shocked and amazed.
“I feel honoured that my colleagues thought I deserved this. I am proud to accept this award for doing a job I love and can see that it makes a difference to the students’ lives.”
