The College catering team, which includes students from its catering courses, is looking forward to providing mouth-watering food and nibbles for the festival’s special guests.
Festival Sponsors will be able to sample specialties such as honey and mustard glazed gammon, mini goats cheese tart with balsamic onion reduction or even a chorizo, roasted vegetable and rocket salad.
VIP ticket holders can enjoy a selection of mini luxury burgers, posh dogs, halloumi bites and mini-Yorkshire puddings with roast beef.
With only a few weeks to go, excitement levels are building at Newark College, as top performing students are being awarded complimentary tickets to attend the event.
Garreth Ince, was nominated by his English teacher.
He said: “I was really surprised as I never get nominated for anything. I was pleased I made the effort now to attend all lessons. I won it because I was always there and did all the work. I’m really looking forward to going to the festival, I am taking my girlfriend and we have never been before!”
Katie Nevin is also going to Newark Festival after being nominated by her AAT tutor.
She said: “I can’t wait! I’m overwhelmed to have been nominated by my tutor for being a top student. As an adult learner, I was apprehensive about returning to education, but it has been the best decision I’ve made! I have thoroughly enjoyed my course at Newark College and the support I have received from my tutors has been amazing, especially during the last few months of lockdown.”
Penny Taylor, the Lead for Education and Training for Newark College, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Newark Festival and look forward to taking part in outdoor events again and bringing some excitement to Newark.
“We will be celebrating with numerous students attending the festival, who have been nominated by their teachers for outstanding work during the year. Our catering students will be cooking and providing food during the festival, and we look forward to sharing their fine dining with ticket holders.”
Newark Festival will take place at Riverside Park on Saturday 21 August 2021 with headliners McFly joined by special guests Gabrielle, Vernon Kay and Lemar.
