The winning sausage recipe consists of smoked bacon, mustard, black pepper and thyme. It was designed by learner Seb Woloszyn as part of a competition set at the College by the Newark Market Place butcher, where the sausage is now available to buy.
Tom Blakemore, who owns GH Porter Provisions said: “There were lots of great suggestions from the students at Newark College. We loved the idea of a breakfast themed sausage and knew it would go down well with our customers.
“After lots of experimentation with the flavours, this could be our best sausage yet!”
The sausage will soon be added to the menu at the Newark College canteen too. Winning student, Seb Woloszyn said: “I am delighted to have won the sausage competition. I will be buying it regularly as it tastes really good.”
