Working fulltime in health care means the online option for Gemma gives her the flexibility she needs to study around her working day.
Gemma has recently completed L2 Mental Health, L2 Safe Handling of Medication, L2 Common Health Conditions and L2 Diabetes – courses she decided to enrol on to help enhance her job skills.
The courses she has completed are all related to health care as she works as a carer/acting senior and says her studies have been helping her in this role.
“Whilst studying I have learnt so much and this has helped me gain knowledge,” said Gemma. “The courses have also helped me learn things I never knew and I find this very interesting - you always seem like you are learning something new throughout each course.”
And it’s all about the options and flexible approach online learning offers Gemma.
“Working online allows you to study where and when you like. I personally feel working online is easier than written work. Once you have uploaded your work onto the unit it is automatically saved (paper can easily get lost) and online format is easy to use.
“I work in a full-time position and I always manage to complete my studies in-between work and my days off. If you are committed to study and to complete a course you can manage.
“There was a time when I was working many hours and long days due to Covid-19, I did contact my tutor to extend one of my unit dates and there was no question about it. I found this so helpful and I really felt supported. I managed to completed my unit after the date had been adjusted and I managed to finish and complete the whole course.”
Online learners are assigned a tutor, who offers support, guidance and advice throughout, something Gemma says has been a real help.
“Lincoln Collage has definitely support me through my studies. You are given a tutor who will contact you prior to you starting the course and introduces themselves and provides contact details.
“If I have ever needed my tutor and emailed them throughout my course, I have always had a quick response. They always provide feedback when needed and I felt I could always contact them if I needed help.”
Gemma has been inspired by her online studies and now plans on enrolling on more courses.
“I have already completed four and I have just started a new one. I am very satisfied with the courses and I would defiantly recommended Lincoln Collage to others.”
