The poppies were created by Level 2 Air and Defence College students at Lincoln College and were planted along with a Spitfire design, the centrepiece of the display, made by course tutor Kieran Sandall.
“We wanted to do something different for Remembrance Day, so I made the Spitfire and then made a poppy myself to see if it could be done, and then asked our students to make them this morning and they’ve really done a great job.”
Steve Ransome, Mechanical Engineering Lead at Lincoln College, and former member of the RAF, said he was proud of what had been created.
“To see Kieran and the students get behind this project in the way they have is really heart-warming and they’ve produced something really special.”
