Held at Deans Sport and Leisure on October 28; the event featured activities from archery to wheelchair basketball for those with disabilities to enjoy.
Foundations students from the Skills to Work in Sport course organised and managed a wide range of activities. Student Ed Funnell, 16, enjoyed the event. He said:
“Working at this event is exciting, it is giving me new skills and experience that are making me more confident.
“It is really rewarding to see those who usually don’t get to do sports, try something new and most importantly have fun!”
Event organiser Ian Brown is Project Officer at Lincolnshire Sport, he said:
“This event is all about encouraging people to be more active with a range of less traditional sporting activities. It is important to make people aware of the different things that are out there that those with disabilities can get involved with.
“Deans Sport and Leisure has some great accessible facilities so hosting the event here is a chance to show these off and inspire people to take part in something new.”
