The charities, chosen after lots of discussion, were Women’s Aid and the Children’s Bereavement Centre, both in Newark.
Penny Taylor, Advanced Curriculum Coach at Newark College, said: “We have been blown away by the generosity of the people who work and study here.
“During such difficult times it is lovely to think that people are so kind and can support others. We hope it can make a small change to many people’s Christmas.”
Rachel Wilson, from Children’s Bereavement Centre, thanked Newark College for their generous donation.
“We are continually grateful for the support we have from Newark College and these will make a huge difference to lots of families lives this Christmas,” she said.
Lucy from Women’s Aid added: “We can’t believe how many presents have been collected and the kindness of people at Newark College; these will make a big difference to lots of women and children’s Christmases.”
