The Skills for Independence and Work group collaborated with students from other subjects, including Joinery, to produce their entry.
The Christmas Tree Festival takes place yearly at St Mary Magdalene’s Church in Newark, it features trees decorated by individuals and organisations in the local community.
Newark College student Zoe made the tree from mostly recycled timber which was then sanded, painted and decorated.
Donna Bright, Entry to Education and Employment Lecturer at Newark College, said:
“Our tree stood out amongst the other entries as it was so individual. We were very proud that we used recycled materials which helps to keep costs down whilst also being good for the environment.”
