The awards, run by eFIXX, a multi-channel media platform for professionals working in the electrical industry, chose Lincoln College’s Electrical Installations Department for this top award, which was open to colleges up and down the country.
The judging panel highlighted the fact the Electrical Installations Department has produced ‘outstanding learning resources both paper-based and in the form of training rigs that take learners beyond the syllabus.’
Judges said Lincoln College ‘rejected the insular approach of some colleges with their collaborative approach to working with others and are a motivated and upbeat team…”
Andrew Bellas, Learning and Skills Lead - Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Lincoln College, said he was absolutely delighted with the award and praised the whole team for their efforts.
“It’s great to get the recognition and to get this award is absolutely fantastic – it’s a great team effort.”
The judging panel was made up of eFIXX editors along with industry experts who visited colleges across the country before shortlisting from hundreds of nominations.
The Electrical Installations Department at Lincoln College works with a number of partners to provide industry relevant courses to students, something that was highlighted during the awards.
Andy added: “The college was judged on the quality of our provision, the quality of our facilities and the pastoral and mentorship our staff provide. The awards also highlighted the fact our role isn’t just about teaching, we also get our students into employment.”
