Electronics repair centre Team Knowhow, has received the Princess Royal Training Award for its work with Newark College.

Team Knowhow, which operates one of the largest electronics repair centre in Europe, works as part of a unique collaboration with Newark College to provide paid work-based learning opportunities.

All students on the courses are employed by Team Knowhow, on a part time basis to carry out IT hardware repairs, while they study for their IT and Computer Servicing Level 3 qualifications.

The Princess Royal Training Awards honour employers who have created outstanding training and skills development programmes, which have resulted in exceptional commercial benefits.

Anthony Overton, Training Manager at Team Knowhow, said: “We are extremely proud to have received this award. Our partnership with Lincoln College Group is a key enabler for us to build a team of capable and committed colleagues.

“A total of 49% of former students have stayed with the business beyond their initial position, many of whom have joined our Apprenticeship program and have all continued progressing within the company. The combined training program received at College and Team Knowhow has produced qualified colleagues who demonstrate our key business values and are committed to their careers at Team Knowhow.”

Alison Williams, Business Development Officer at Newark College, described the partnership as unique and congratulated Team Knowhow on their award.

“It's fantastic news that Team Knowhow has been recognised for its work and we're proud to be a part of a partnership that provides students with vital skills, experience and qualifications.

“Our unique partnership with Team Knowhow provides students with the opportunity to gain relevant skills and experience, while at the same time study at Newark College towards the qualification they will need to progress in their chosen career.”
