Construction and Civil Engineering - IoT

Our Institute of Technology (IoT) programmes have been designed and created in collaboration with employers, colleges, and universities to develop the talent and skills of our students - enabling them to be work-ready with clear career progression.

The IoT Construction and Civil Engineering programmes are designed to develop a broad understanding and practical experience in the typical tasks and requirements of engineering and construction management professionals and the underpinning academic knowledge.

Through both practical and theoretical sessions, students have the opportunity to develop the hands-on skills that are essential for successful employment within the sector.

Assignments are vocational in nature and students are encouraged to apply their knowledge in the most relevant way to their current employment or aspirational job role. A number of off-site visits are undertaken throughout the course to support the theoretical principles and practices delivered.

IoT Construction and Civil Engineering Courses Available:

The Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (IoT) is a collaboration between the University of Lincoln and Further Education providers across Greater Lincolnshire.

The IoT specialises in delivering high quality technical education across industries with a focus on Engineering, Digital, Automotive, Manufacturing, and Constructions subjects, opening up opportunities for students to gain industry-relevant skills to overcome some of the key challenges facing the technical industries.

The courses have been designed to develop the essential skills and experience needed for a range of pathways to ensure learners complete their training career-ready.

At Lincoln College, we have a range of Level 4, 5 and 6 coures covering three IoT pathways:

A multi-million-pound investment has been made to refurbish our oldest Grade II listed Gibney building to house the IoT.

It has been designed to replicate the latest progressive working environments.

We have also equipped all of our workshops and classrooms with the latest IT hardwadware, computing, electrical engineering and automotive engineering equipment.

Level 4 and 5 qualifications are designed for specialist learning and are suitable for people currently working in, or wishing to enter into, technical and professional jobs, and/or managing and developing others.

A Level 4 and 5 qualification represents a greater understanding and a higher level of learning than that gained from secondary education level. It also acts as the bridge between Level 3 and 6 - helping those to progress to the next stage of education where they may not have had the qualifications previously to do so.

There is an increasing demand from employers for qualifications at this level in key sectors like automotive, engineering, digital, management, business and more - helping to plug the current skills gap in these areas.

Students studying at this level can often study part-time and continue with their current employment.

Enrolling employees on Level 4 and 5 course can also be a great way for employers to upskill their workforce benefiting both the company and their staff.

Companies that train staff at these levels may recieve improved productivity, better adherence to quality standards, a workforce that can do a greater variety of work and an ability to respond effectively to change.

Applications can be made on the individual course page.

Please find the right course from the list below and use the 'Apply Now' button on the page to start the application.
