The first of our four Cornerstones of Success is ‘The Capacity, Recognition and Wellbeing of our People’. The collective talents and potential of our people is key to achieving our purpose and mission. We want our people to be healthy, well-rewarded, well-recognised and well-informed.
We want our people to be happy because they are genuinely cared about and supported to perform to the best of their ability. Find out more about our Extraordinary Workplace on the Perks of the Job page.
Our colleges are populated by talented people who care deeply about improving the lives of others through education and training. Ensuring that we can attract and retain talent with the right values and guiding behaviours is essential to be able to achieve our purpose and mission.
We participate in a number of recruitment initiatives that aim to attract experienced industry professionals with expert technical knowledge and skills to work in Further Education. These include the Taking Teaching Further Scheme (TTF) and holding the highest badge of honour, Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, for the Armed Forces Covenant.
Through the Armed Forces Covenant, the College has pledged to ensure that it will provide equal opportunities for armed service personnel and their families, both as an employer and an education and training provider, to help them transition into civilian life at the end of their service.
We recognise and celebrate diversity, ensuring that the needs and expectations of our people are met. Find out more about our commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI).
