There is a lot of uncertainty around at the moment, particularly in relation to education, so we wanted to make sure that you feel secure in terms of making an application to Lincoln, Newark or Gainsborough College.
To remove any anxiety our applicants may have about their future we are making all school-leaver applicants a conditional offer.
As you know we are unable to hold Open Days at the moment. We are also unable to hold Welcome Days, where people who have applied have a taster lesson and an interview with a tutor, who decides whether to make an offer of a place or not.
We have no choice but to bypass these events, so rest assured, when you make an application you will receive a conditional offer.
Your conditions relate the GCSE entry requirement grades and an interview when social distancing rules are relaxed. When possible, we will invite you in for a Future Freedom event where you’ll get to meet your tutor and look around the College.
If you don’t achieve the entry requirement grades for your course, again, don’t worry, we’ll simply start you on a lower level, or alternative course and you can progress up, or transfer the following year.
We hope this gives you some peace of mind. Once you've applied we'll send you newsletters and updates regularly and we can’t wait to see you when things have returned to normal.

Do I need to continue with my studies?
At the current time, the college has not been told by our awarding bodies how qualifications will be calculated or awarded later in the year; so it is vitally important that you keep in touch with your college tutors and continue to complete all the work asked of you.
Please do not think that just because some exams have been cancelled and the college is currently closed, that you will automatically be awarded your qualification.
As soon as the college finds out how qualifications will be calculated and awarded we will get in touch with you to tell you how this is going to work. Your tutors will then tell you what work you need to do over the coming weeks.
