An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Lincolnshire CCG for an Apprentice. A key part of this role will be coding and validating a range of healthcare invoices for payment processing, dealing with contractor queries, and providing related performance information to the CCG.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Support in the production of regular, high quality financial information and interpretation for the CCG
- Support the Finance Team by closely working with NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) to ensure smooth processing of invoices and ledger transactions
- Respond to queries from suppliers seeking payment. Take action to investigate and resolve routine issues promptly, contacting CCG Managers as necessary to confirm authorisation and providing feedback to suppliers as appropriate.
- Analyse postings to the ledger to ensure the integrity and validity of ledger reports
- Support the Finance Team to improve the financial systems and processes of Lincolnshire CCG to ensure good governance, stewardship, control and cost-effective use of resources
- Support the Finance Team to investigate variation in practice and use of resources to inform decision making, including analysis of external data sources
- To ensure completion of all required training elements within the apprenticeship scheme within the agreed timeframe.
- This is a training position linked to academic progression through the AAT qualification in partnership with a local College. As such opportunities will be given at an appropriate level to broaden experience, carrying out duties across finance teams within the CCG.
Skills Required
Must have the following skills:
- Able to work well in a team
- Able to use IT software packages
- Computer literate with competent keyboard skills
- Intermediate level use of Microsoft Office products – able to develop spreadsheet and database models to support future financial resources options and analyse various optional outcomes
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to ensure explanation of complex financial figures to non-financial managers
- Must be able to work under pressure within set deadlines
- Able to work with minimal supervision
Qualifications Required
5 GCSE grades 9 (A) - 4 (C) including Maths and English
