Apprentice Fire, Emergency and Security Technician - N X 1 (UK) Ltd

NX1 UK are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Apprentice to join their team as a Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician Apprentice, to assist with duties such as repair and diagnostics of security systems. NX1 UK are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Apprentice to join their team as a Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician Apprentice, to assist with duties such as repair and diagnostics of security systems. We are based in North Lincolnshire but cover the UK. We are offering a full apprenticeship with training both in college and on site.


What Will the Apprentice Be Doing?

NX1 UK Ltd are a security installation and consultancy business established for 23 years and cover all types of business from large power stations to small business units and home security. We are based in North Lincolnshire but cover the UK. We are offering a full apprenticeship with training both in college and on site.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Installation of CCTV, alarms, barriers, access control, fibre optics
  • Maintenance of existing security systems
  • Repair and diagnostics of security systems
  • Site surveys, consultancy, design and planning projects
  • Training, testing and fault finding of security systems
  • Responding to callouts (within normal working hours)

What Training Will the Apprentice Take and What Qualification Will the Apprentice Get at the End?

  • Fire, Emergency and Security Technician Standard Level 3
  • The apprentice will undergo training at college for the following course: Security Systems Technician Apprenticeship Standard L3
  • The training will be undertaken over a 3-year period and is likely to be block release training periods at Lincoln College Newark
  • In-house training on all company policies and procedures.
  • Training on and applicable to specific work sites
  • IPAF training            

What is the Expected Career Progression After this Apprenticeship?

  • The successful applicant will have the opportunity to remain with the company on a full employment contract following successful completion of the apprenticeship if a position is available
  • By completion of this apprenticeship the candidate will have satisfied the requirements for registration as EngTech by the Engineering Council

Things to Consider

The job will entail working both indoor and outdoor and also working at height on occasions. Full clean driving licence required as the job will require travel and possible overnight stays
