College life

At college you’ll be treated like a young professional and our facilities are designed to reflect the true working environments.

Why choose college?

College is different - here's why it might be the right choice for you:

  • This isn’t sixth form – it’s more like university. You’ll be treated like a young professional if you act like one and our facilities are designed to reflect the workplace.
  • You will have more freedom to manage your time, you’ll be able to express your individuality and you’ll have a more professional working relationship with your tutors.
  • You will be in a safe and inclusive environment where our students tell us they are bullied less and accepted for who they are more.
  • These freedoms are balanced with our aim to get you ready for the career of your choice.
  • You will not just be taking a course with us – you will be enrolling onto a Study Programme, which will further develop your Maths and English skills and ensure you get high quality work experience with one of the 1,200 local firms we have a relationship with.
  • Our training spaces replicate the workplace and you’ll have access to amazing leisure and sports facilities, along with great places to study, relax and eat.
  • Many of your tutors will have years of industry experience to pass on to make sure you are career-ready.
  • We also have a team focused on giving you the financial, emotional, psychological and career development support you need to succeed.

Unrivalled facilities

Our campuses are designed to support your learning, inspire you to improve and keep you safe and healthy.

Workshops, Studios and Study Zones

Our workshops, studios and study zones are equipped to industry standards to replicate real working environments and prepare you for your career.

Many sixth forms now offer technical qualifications in construction and engineering, but they cannot match our amazing workshop environments.

If you choose us you’ll be using trade-standard machinery and tools in an environment that truly reflects the workplace – and that means you’ll be ready to hit the ground running when you start your career.

Library Facilities

You’ll also have access to well-stocked, modern library facilities with extensive online research and study tools.

You’ll be able to book out study areas to work on team projects or just to secure a quiet space for yourself.

You can also benefit from workshops designed to improve your study and revision skills, use the library more effectively and learn how to do referencing for your assignments.

Leisure and Sports Facilities

We believe in working hard and playing hard so we have ensured that our campuses have great leisure facilities including canteens, coffee shops and Sessions House, a top restaurant staffed by our students.

Our sports facilities are second-to-none and Deans Sport and Leisure at Lincoln College has a high-tech gym and performance lab, spa pool and steam rooms, outdoor gym, squash and basketball courts and much more.

Lincoln College is now also home to Escape Lincoln, the best escape rooms in the City. You’ll be able to play amazing games like Sherlock, The Games, The Magic Emporium and Contagion at a discounted rate.

Your Safety

Our campuses are designed to support your learning, inspire you to improve and keep you safe and healthy. Health and safety is a top priority and our security teams are always on hand to reassure and prevent disruption to college life.

Close to the action

One of the main benefits of coming to Lincoln and Newark  Colleges is the fact that they’re on the doorstep of the City and town centres.

You’ll have a lot more free time than you’re used to. It’s up to you whether you get a part time job close by or just enjoy yourself and relax.

Lincoln College

Lincoln is a beautiful, buzzing City with a great mix of heritage and modern living. You’ll be a five-minute walk from top high street shops and great independent traders, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, a multiplex cinema and places to hang out.

Whatever your passion, from music, film and literature to sport, gaming, shopping, beauty or eating, there’s something for you.

Newark College
