As proud sponsors of the event, the College gifted 100 students and apprentices with tickets to see headline acts such as Sigma and Razorlight on Friday and Saturday night. The learners were awarded the prize by tutors in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
Student Sophie Kelly said: “I was really happy to win some tickets, they were worth working hard for. I loved the festival, it was so much fun.”
Meanwhile staff members engaged with local businesses and key members of the community to promote the College and the variety of employer-led courses it provides.
During the family fun day on Sunday, students from the School of Musical Instrument Crafts were on hand to demonstrate their expertise in violin making and woodwind repair. A staff band also entertained the crowd with an acoustic set on the main stage.
Advanced Curriculum Coach, Penny Taylor said: “We were delighted to sponsor Newark Festival this year and to highlight the range of skills we have to offer at Newark College. It was an honour to entertain and connect with local employers and a wonderful opportunity to reward students for their hard work this academic year.
“We look forward to working with many of the businesses in the future and building relationships further.”
