Lincoln College Hairdressing students welcomed industry giant Lee Stafford for an unforgettable workshop today. Renowned for his ingenuity and expertise, Stafford shared his insights and techniques with the next generation of hairstylists, teaching them that breaking into a thriving industry demands innovation, determination, and a willingness to learn. The workshop focused on Stafford's revolutionary ‘Twisted Tong’ technique and delved into his remarkable career.
Cheryl Webster, Curriculum Lead in Hairdressing and Beauty at Lincoln College, said: “Students and staff are always enthused to welcome Lee Stafford onto campus. Students tentatively listened to his experiences, from the highs to the lows - offering a candid glimpse into the realities of the industry. With each anecdote and piece of advice, Stafford imparted wisdom.
Throughout the workshop, students were encouraged to ask questions and engage with Stafford - a rare opportunity to learn from one of the industry's most esteemed figures. Students absorbed his advice, eager to apply it to their careers.
One of the most compelling aspects of the session was Stafford's willingness to address a wide range of topics, from the importance of English and Maths skills in the industry to the benefits of pursuing Further Education at college. The discussion touched upon overcoming social anxiety, working with Dyslexia and students navigating their journeys with children and starting their careers at any age.
