The Police visited the College’s Student Union’s Pride event to talk to students about hate crime and reporting procedures.
The Pride events also provide a platform through which staff and students can celebrate equality and diversity, as well as the opportunity to challenge prejudice.
Police Community Support Officers and Lincolnshire Police’s Equality and Diversity Officer, worked alongside the College’s Safeguarding and Prevent Officer, Christopher Gow, to chat with students about equality and diversity.
Christopher said: “At Lincoln College we’re proud of our diversity. Our colleges are a safe and inclusive environment for our staff and learners.
“We have also been recruiting student ambassadors to build a network of support within the College. These ambassadors will also help to reduce hate crime on campus and raise awareness of existing reporting measures.
“Working with the Police allows our colleges to stand together to tackle hate crime and continue to make them a safe and inclusive environment for our learners to study.”
