Lincoln College welcomes 1,000 locals to its recruitment event – the finale of a Week in the Life of Lincoln College for #LoveOurColleges Week

May 18 2019

We’re celebrating the Association of Colleges #LoveOurColleges Week by sharing a Week in the Life of Lincoln College. The week of action is designed to demonstrate why the Chancellor should ensure meaningful and sustainable investment in colleges in his comprehensive spending review. So we’ll be talking about the social and economic value we add through education and training all week.

Association of Colleges #LoveOurColleges Week

1,000 prospective students and family members attended the Welcome Day at Lincoln College today.

The college holds around 15 Welcome Days a year for students who have applied to the college.

Students and their families are welcomed by a college exec, have a briefing on college life and take part in taster sessions and interviews. Students walk away with the offer of a place at college in September.

Lincoln College Group Director of Marketing and Communications James Newall said: “This is the perfect way to round off #LoveOurColleges week.

“It is through these students that we add significant recognised social and economic value in our communities. They will go on to the be the workforce of the future – underpinning the local economy.

“And it is these students who deserve a fairer deal in terms of more money per head from the Government to invest in their future.

“We had a great morning meeting our new students and their families and we can’t wait for them to start in September.”

Mum-of-two Tina Pritchard said: “This was a really well organised event and it gave me the chance to see where my daughter will be studying and to meet staff to talk about  extra support she might need.”
