Message to students and parents from Lincoln College Group Managing Director Mark Locking

Following on from my message to you earlier this week, I wanted to write to you to give you clarity on our partial phased return to college for a limited amount staff and students.

I also wanted to give you clarity on our communication plan so you know what, how and when we will communicate.

College staff are planning for the limited partial return of some further education students, by invite only, from 15th June.

We will be focussing on supporting vulnerable learners and apprentices and those where face-to-face assessment to complete their qualification is the only option.

We expect numbers of students to be low and their attendance will be staggered carefully and closely controlled.

As ever, ensuring the safety of staff and students is our primary aim, and if for whatever reason we are not confident of achieving this – the timeline for return will be delayed.

Please note, as previously stated, any student or apprentice attending our colleges at Lincoln, Newark and Gainsborough who has not been invited, or who is present outside of their allotted time slot, will be asked to leave. This is to ensure the safety of invited students and staff by helping us to maintain social distancing.

On Monday 1st June you will receive a message from myself via email. This will give you clarity on our approach to the following issues: travelling to college, social distancing at college, PPE, vulnerable students (mental and physical health), campus cleaning and student behaviour at college. This message will also be posted on Moodle, OneFile, MyDay and the College website.

You are also invited to join one of two Zoom Webinars where college leaders will brief you on these issues and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

These will take place on 10th June at 5pm and 12th June at 5pm. You can register to attend now below.

Thank you once again for your tremendous levels of engagement with your remote learning. I hope you and your families have a relaxing half-term and I look forward to you continuing your learning from 1st June.
