The ceremony honours young people who have shown courage and selfless acts of kindness. Amber was among 6 recipients from schools, college and organisations in the Newark area.
English tutor, Lynn Baker nominated Amber and presented her with the award. She said: “Amber has an issue with her knee which causes it to collapse without warning, but it never stops her from getting on with life. Amber never makes a fuss and always works hard.
“Her resilience knows no bounds and I literally think she deserves a medal for keeping going!”
The awards were held virtually this year, with Amber and Lynn taking part in the ceremony remotely at the College. However, to make more of the celebrations, students from the catering course were on hand to serve afternoon tea as part of their food preparation assessment.
Amber said: “I’m really happy and grateful for the award and I’d like to thank Lynn for nominating me.”
