Our amazing students achieved a 99 per cent pass rate even though it was the first time some had sat major exams.

Students, many of whom didn’t sit GCSEs due to COVID, also achieved an increase in higher grades on last year.

They collected their results at the College’s Monks Road campus this morning and among them was Kallie Bauckham - who smashed it with three A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Kallie said: “I got into the University of Edinburgh to study Veterinary Medicine. I got three A* and I'm over the moon!

“What I liked most about Lincoln College was that any effort you put in is going to be matched by your teachers. The support that I've had from my teachers has been above and beyond - they've been there for me every single step of the way. Whether it's been with my university application or with my subjects - they have been there to answer any questions, even if it has not been related to the course. The support has been unreal.”

Holly Purveur was collecting her results with her mum. She was delighted with her two As and a B.

“It’s amazing – I’ve got what I need to do Real Estate at Nottingham Trent.” she said.

“It’s been a strange couple of years and really tough at times coping with being remote and then coming in again. I’d like to thank my tutors though, Rebecca and Dave, who were amazing and really supportive throughout.”

Lincoln College Group Principal and CEO Mark Locking said he was delighted for the students and their families.

“I’m really proud of the hard work, dedication and tenacity of our students, who now have a great platform to enter higher education, or to start their careers in work,” he said.

“This generation of students overcame significant adversity. The fact they stayed focused and managed their studies through COVID and coped with A Level exams having not learned to manage that kind of pressure during their GCSEs, is pretty staggering.

“The parents and carers of this generation have also had a tough time, so congratulations to them for supporting their young people and enabling them to be as resilient as they are.

“Thank you also to our wonderful staff, who have nurtured and supported our students to success.”

Anyone who has not yet secured a university place can apply to study a Career Degree with Lincoln College.

Our Career Bursaries will pay students to complete additional industry qualifications on top of their degrees, or help fund equipment like a laptop.

Our degree courses have small class sizes and more face-to-face contact time with tutors than most unis, along with compressed timetables to allow for part-time working.
