Engineering/Manufacturing Apprentice - Teledyne UK Limited

Teledyne Lincoln Microwave is offering a fantastic opportunity to the right candidate with their Manufacturing Apprenticeship at Firth Road in Lincoln. This is a hands-on apprenticeship where you will work closely with our manufacturing team to help build, tune, test and deliver highly technical products for niche microwave applications.

What Will the Apprentice Be Doing?

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Liaising with microwave design engineers, technical authorities, and other departments.

  • Set up microwave test systems.

  • Mechanical assembly and microwave tuning of devices.

  • Supporting manufacturing production lines.

  • Follow defined Drawings and Datapacks to ensure product compliance.

All of our manufacturing Technicians and Operators are expected to have a strong team ethic and a great respect for attention to detail.

Desired Skills / Qualifications:

  • Maths, Physics (or Science) and English Grade A-C or 9/4.

  • Basic computer literacy and experience of using MS Office.

  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.

  • Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small components.

  • Ability to work within a team.

Desired Personal Qualities:

  • Interest in Engineering and/or Technology.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Adaptable and flexible.

  • Able to work on own initiative.

What Training Will the Apprentice Take and What Qualification Will the Apprentice Get at the End?

The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Engineering Fitter Level 3.

The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course. This is a Day Release programme which means you will attend Lincoln College, 1 day per week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.

Career progression through higher technical / engineering grades within the organisation is encouraged, with the option of subject specialisation and further education to degree level.
