Work Experience
Each student at the College is expected to take part in a minimum of 30-hours external work experience relevant to their planned career route. Our progress coaches talk to students about the most suitable option for them dependent on their future career plans and aspirations. Here are some options available:
External work placement with an employer 30 hours
Volunteering for 30 hours
Online work experience programme with Speakers for School or an industry body
Industry Placement of 315 hours + (T Level students only).
Industry Placements
Industry Placements have been introduced as part of new technical training programmes known as T Levels. Presently at Lincoln College, we are delivering T levels with local employers, in Health Science, Early Years and Teaching, Engineering and Accounting. Students must be enrolled on one of these T Level courses to be able to take part in a T Level placement.
The same principles as work experience apply, but takes place over an extended period of 45 to 60 days or minimum of 315 hours over the 2 year programme
It will allow students to practice what they have been taught at college, gaining confidence and skills to progress into a working environment
Each industry placement student is assigned a Placement Adviser who will be in contact on a regular basis, support with focusing on targets and communicate with the student’s workplace
