Courses for those aged 19+ who want to gain a nationally recognised qualification, improve their maths skills and feel more confident about maths in everyday life.
Once you have applied, you will be invited to do an assessment, this is to establish which qualification would be suitable for you to study. You could be put on the Adult GCSE pathway or Functional Skills.
Functional Skills English equips learners with the practical skills needed to live, learn and work successfully. They are available at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, but the interview and pre-course assessment will help us to check that each learner will be able to study at an appropriate level. Learners need a basic ability in communication before they can start Level 2.
Assessment & Progression
Online or Paper-based assessment by exam for Reading and Writing when you and your tutor deem that you are ready. Classroom-based assessment for Speaking and Listening.
What You Will Need To Bring
You will require general stationery items. Access to the Internet is useful but PCs are available on campus.
