This course is for Beginners with little or no knowledge of the Italian language. The course will cover the first topics you may use in short conversations: greetings, giving information about yourself, and ordering food and drinks in a bar and a restaurant. The main emphasis will be on speaking.
There will be eight two-hour lessons. Each lesson will teach the basic language skills of reading, listening, writing, and speaking, with particular emphasis on speaking. The course aims to understand and use simple colloquial Italian.
The units/lessons for this programme are as follows:
Pronunciation of Italian sounds, greetings – Information about self
Alphabet and nationality and place of residence
Use and understand numbers 0-10 – giving out telephone numbers
Numbers 11-100 and order food in a bar
Understand a menu in a restaurant
Get familiar with some basic Italian grammar topics: masculine/feminine nouns /articles/adjectives
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, however, you must be aged 19+ the previous August and a resident in the UK/EU for three years or longer
