The Domestic Gas Ducted Air Heaters assessment at Lincoln College is designed for you if you want to develop the skills and knowledge required to work competently on these systems.
This is a re-assessment for plumbers and gas engineers already registered with Gas Safe. It takes approximately four hours and combines practical and theoretical work.
The assessment covers what you need to know to safely install, service, and repair domestic gas-fired ducted air heaters.
During this course, you’ll learn:
Checking the intended installation site.
The gas connection and supply pipes
Securing the appliance correctly
Ventilation requirements
Flueing requirements
Tightness testing
Air changes/velocities
Operating pressures
Commissioning and testing the appliance
Other ‘site-specific’ checks and tests
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements to attend the course, however you must have access to gas work experience.
You will be expected to take a pre-assessment test to check your suitability for the course.
Assessment & Progression
You will have theory and practical assessments and a short multiple choice exam.
What You Will Need To Bring
You will need workwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). You will also need general stationery equipment.
