SCO Level 1

Domestic Gas Fires & Wall Heaters

  • Duration

    4 hours (Part-time)

This course is a re-assessment for Gas Safe-registered plumbers and gas engineers, combining practical and theory evaluations over approximately four hours. It is designed to evaluate and certify your competence as a gas engineer in handling domestic gas heating appliances, including gas fires, wall heaters, and related systems.

The course covers essential skills such as installation, commissioning, disconnection, servicing, breakdown repair, and appliance exchanges. While the course focuses exclusively on gas safety competence, as per ACS assessment requirements, it does not assess related skills such as electrical or building work.

During the assessment, you must demonstrate proficiency in identifying appliance types, following manufacturer instructions, and adhering to British Standards to ensure the safe use of appliances. This rigorous process ensures that you maintain the high safety standards required in the gas engineering industry.
