The Level 2 Award is ideal if you are already working in welding and fabrication industries and are looking to develop your skills further to increase your responsibilities and knowledge.
The unit is designed to enable you to demonstrate welding skills typically found in industry and associated underpinning knowledge to a level that will enable you to complete welded joints in standard welding positions and prepare them for undertaking qualifications at NVQ level 2 and level 3.
Entry requirements
Ideally you should have already gained Level 1 of this award, or you should have experience of this process and are already working in welding and fabrication industries.
A short assessment may be carried out at the start of the course to ensure that you have the capability to achieve.
Study Details
You will attend a two-hour session delivered by Industry experts. There are both theoretical and practical elements to this course.The course will run on a Wednesday evening from 18:00 - 20:00 for a period of up to 30 weeks.
Assessment & Progression
You will complete various assessments of welded joints throughout the course, under the direction of your tutor. There is also a short answer question module.
