Facilities
We have industry-standard equipment, including a fully-equipped TV studio, editing suites, a photography studio and darkroom; so whether you are perfecting your photographs or experimenting, we help prepare students for a career in the industry.
Our Higher Education students have their own Common Room with sofas and free tea and coffee facilities.

When I first started doing the Level 3 Extended Diploma in photography, I never really had any intentions of doing any further courses. It was after speaking to the tutors I then decided to further my studies.
The course offers so much, the chance to be able to learn new skills and extended the ones you have as well as develop your own style/ area you want to go into with the support of the tutors.
I loved every second even the times I felt like launching my textbooks out the window! I enjoyed the trips and being able to see new things and learn about the history of photography, read new books and being able to delve into different photographers’ work. I used to love studio days, it was a chance to develop/perfect skills and learn new techniques with the support of your tutor and the rest of the class, it became such a fun lesson, and everyone worked as a team and bounced ideas around to get the perfect final photo.

During my time on the course, we acquired many vocational and practical skills, finding opportunities in assignments to be able to practice skills we had learnt in real world environments and simulated situations.
Examples of this are: collaborating with local companies, taking studio workshops, wedding photography opportunities, food photography and so much more! Many students even got the opportunity to partake in photography work for google for a day!
By far the most enjoyable aspect of the course was the small class sizes, meaning we all bonded and could rely on each other to help when it was needed.
During this course, I was able to start work as a wedding photographer, shooting as a second shooter for a while and then eventually taking on weddings on my own with real word clients.

I enjoyed being able to focus on my specialism, finding ways of shoe horning my personal interest into every brief. I enjoyed the open and frank conversations about what photography was at its core, its value to me personally and to the wider world, and I enjoyed working collaboratively with others and further enhancing my creativity and skillset.
Studying the degree absolutely transformed my life. I had aspirations of becoming a fashion photographer and travelling all over the world, but this changed to teaching after my time at Lincoln College.
The support I received from staff here, during difficult times with mental health struggles and other health issues was so great, that I in turn, wanted to do the same for others in similar situations and so became a teacher myself. If it was not for studying at Lincoln College, I don’t believe I would be a teacher now!
