Another Year of Success as Lincoln College Students Achieve Exceptional A Level Results

Lincoln College are celebrating once more at this year's A Level results day.

Lincoln College are celebrating once more as this year's A Level results show an incredible 10.1% above national average in the A Level achievement rate.

A Level students at Lincoln College had an overall pass rate of 97.3%, again above national average.

A vast majority of the College’s T Level students also achieved high grades.

As is now tradition at the College, we have celebrated the success of all Level 3 learners, including those in Technical Training, A Levels and T Levels. The celebration event was designed to create a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. Complimentary food and refreshments were provided, and students received gifts as a token of recognition for their efforts.

This communal celebration provided an excellent opportunity for students to mark the conclusion of their Level 3 journey, reflecting on their accomplishments before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.

Vice Principal Julie Sullivan, said: "It's been amazing to see so many happy faces today as the culmination of hard work comes to an end and students, no matter what their future plans, can breathe a sigh of relief now the results are here. Well done to everyone collecting results today, you should be very proud.”

Freeman Edwards, who achieved an incredible four A*s in his A Levels, said: "I didn’t really want to go to university in my first year, but in second year I came across a maths problem that really intrigued me and it completely changed my mind.

“Now I’ve got four A* A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics, and I’ll be starting a Mathematics degree at the University of Oxford this October.

“I didn’t enjoy secondary school much, though I did get a grade 8 in Maths, but I’ve loved studying here at Lincoln College - it’s so much more personal. You’re on a first-name basis with teachers, treated like an adult, and it’s a more relaxed environment.

“I came here instead of staying at my secondary school's sixth form, and it was the right choice. Maxine, my college maths teacher, who also went to Oxford, was a huge help with my reference and personal statement, and my tutors Adam, Christine, and Richard have all been brilliant too.

“In the future, I want to maybe become a professor or go into research maths - I just want to keep stretching myself!"

Teaching and support staff played a crucial role in the day’s events, offering guidance, encouragement, and celebrating alongside the students. Their presence provided an additional layer of support, ensuring that students felt valued and recognised for their hard work.

As students collected their results, there was a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation for the future. For many, this day marked the beginning of new adventures, whether that be in higher education, entering the workforce, or exploring other opportunities.
