Four apprentices began work in October 2017 on the city infrastructure project, which nearly came to the end of the road when original contractor Carillion went into administration.
Eloise Hesnan has been signed up by Galliford Try after already gaining valuable work and site experience on works around the River Witham, A158 Wragby Road and the rail bridge in Greetwell.
Stephen Tomkins, Operations Director for Galliford Try Highways said: “We are delighted to have provided an opportunity for Eloise and our other apprentices to continue working on the eastern bypass. They are making a great contribution to our team.
“We are passionate about attracting young talent into the industry and we hope that their involvement in such a high profile, local scheme will further fuel their enthusiasm for construction.”
Eloise said: “I was obviously worried when my apprenticeship was uncertain, but am really please Galliford Try have signed me up and I get to continue my work on the Lincoln Eastern Bypass as it is a major improvement scheme for the city.
“Completing my qualification at Lincoln College has meant that I can stay at home, access quality resources like the library and work with local people and share similar experiences.
“I am looking forward to building on my experience and being confident enough to get out on site independently and get involved in the problem solving.”
