The industry leaders hosted the tour, providing Level 3 Business students with the opportunity to learn more about the shopping centre’s day-to-day management and intu’s work developing both of its properties in Nottingham.
Student, Liam Kempson said: “The tour was really interesting – it helped me to understand the importance of entrances and signposting in shopping centres and also gave me the chance to look at how retailers advertise through their windows and shop fronts.”
“I was really impressed by the sheer scale of how intu has redeveloped intu Victoria Centre and also the exciting plans for intu Broadmarsh."
Business Lecturer, Amanda Bradford said: “It’s incredibly worthwhile to bring our students out of the College and into the heart of Nottingham city centre, showcasing the whole ‘shopping centre retail experience’.
“Our students are currently focussing on visual merchandising as part of their studies and have thoroughly enjoyed and gained valuable experience from the visit.
“We will be delighted to visit again next year to further enhance the studies of our students.”
Marketing Manager for intu Nottingham, Nicola McCabe said: “It was great to see our friends from Newark College for another year.
“We’re really pleased to be able to support its students’ studies and bring to life the world of retail outside of the classroom.
“We’re glad the students enjoyed the visit and were able to learn more about intu and the work we do locally. It was a pleasure to provide them with a behind the scenes tour and we wish them the very best of luck with their continued studies.”
