College's new eco-urban salon opens for business

Lincoln College Group CEO Gary Headland cut the ribbon on Aura - its new professional hair and beauty salon today.

On the corner of Guildhall Street and Newland in Lincoln, Aura is partnered with top product suppliers including GHD, Wella, Elemis and Sebastian.

Part of the Green Salon Collective, it will lead the way in the industry, ensuring not a single item goes to landfill – including the hair.

Working alongside Aura’s expert stylists will be Level 3 Lincoln College apprentices and students – honing their skills before entering the industry independently.

Lincoln College Group CEO Gary Headland said: “This is a living breathing example of our mission, ensuring our training is relevant and employer-led and guaranteeing young people leave us as productive assets to local employers from day-one.

“I’d urge everyone in the City to get behind Aura – it’s guilt-free indulgence. Not only are you treating yourself with minimal impact on the environment – but every penny of profit will be ploughed back into local education and training.”

Why not choose Aura for hair, facials, massage, spray tans, waxing, tinting, lashes, manicures, pedicures and makeup application.

Aura Manager, Gemma Scanlon, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this venture.

“Having a background that spans many years in the hair and beauty industry, I know first-hand how important this salon is going to be.

“We are committed to providing not only an amazing training package, but a fully inclusive salon environment for the community to enjoy. The brands we have in salon are going to provide the ultimate luxury treatment too.”
