Chloe Brierly, a former Fine Art Foundation student at Lincoln College’s Art School, has successfully transitioned from her studies at Christ Hospital Terrace (CHT) to an exciting career path in product design. Her time at Lincoln College played a pivotal role in shaping her artistic practice, refining her technical skills, and broadening her research methodologies.
Reflecting on her experience, Chloe, said: “During my time at Lincoln College, I saw a lot of development in my artistic practice, pushing it towards a professional level. It exposed me to techniques and ways of working and deepened research methods. Studying in the Bailgate was brilliant and the studios were lovely and light.”
After completing her foundation year in 2021, Chloe progressed to study Product Design at Nottingham Trent University. Alongside her degree, she has secured a six-month artist residency at Coreset, a dynamic creative hub based in Newark. This residency has allowed her to explore the intersection between fine art and design, bridging her passion for aesthetics with functionality.
Looking ahead, Chloe is set to embark on a significant new chapter in June 2025 as part of her placement year. She will be relocating to Hammersmith, London, to take on the role of Hardlines, Product Design and Development for Consumer Products at Disney. This prestigious opportunity will provide her with invaluable industry experience, allowing her to work within a globally recognised brand at the forefront of creative innovation.
With a strong foundation in fine art and an expanding expertise in product design, Chloe envisions a future where she can merge artistic expression with commercial application. Whether through designing consumer products, curating artistic collaborations, or pushing the boundaries of design-led innovation, she is excited to see where her creative journey takes her next.
