After completing her four-year apprenticeship at Lincoln College, Tabitha Morris has emerged on top, earning a highly sought-after Distinction grade.
Tabitha has worked tirelessly and shown exceptional skill throughout her training, making her a credit to the college. Despite facing incredibly challenging personal circumstances, she channelled her energy into her college work - an effort that culminated in this rarely achieved grade.
This milestone follows an evening of celebration at the Lincoln College Further Education Awards Ceremony 2025, where Tabitha received the Construction Award for being an exceptional learner. Her wealth of knowledge is the result of countless hours of dedicated, independent research and meticulous portfolio work.
Even when faced with significant responsibilities at work, Tabitha maintained her strong focus and dedication to her course. Working alongside her dad, she stepped up to play an active role in running his business during a challenging period. She successfully balanced her studies with these additional pressures, continuing to demonstrate the same determined and focused attitude she has always shown.
Her growth throughout her studies has been remarkable, observed not only by curriculum staff but also by fellow students. Once held back by social anxiety, Tabitha has developed impressive confidence and communication skills.
Jonathon Cotton, Curriculum Lead for Construction Apprenticeships, said: “What really stands out with Tabitha is her sheer determination. This was particularly evident during her ACS gas assessment and her Plumbing & Heating End Point Assessment. Her focus was truly remarkable, and we are incredibly proud of her.”
The Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship covers plumbing and heating in phases one to three, before focusing on gas in phase four. Apprentices complete the ACS gas assessments at the end of phase four, prior to the End Point Assessment (EPA) and registration on the Gas Safe Register. Upon completion, apprentices become fully qualified plumbers and Gas Engineers.
Damion Towers, ACS Gas Assessor, added: “Tabitha demonstrated an excellent understanding of the gas safety regulations and applied them effectively throughout the ACS process. Her competency reflects the high standards she sets for herself, resulting in an outstanding performance.”
Emma Reynolds and Gary Blaize, Onsite Assessors, said: “Tabitha has shown great knowledge, skill and ability in both plumbing and gas while working on-site. She holds herself to exceptionally high standards, and this will stand her in good stead as she continues her journey in the plumbing and gas engineering industry.”
