Lincoln College Students Achieve a 12% Increase in A-Level Higher Grades

This year, we celebrated the success of all Level 3 learners, including those in Technical Training A Levels and T Levels

A-Level students at Lincoln College achieved a 12% increase in A* to C grades compared to last year, with the overall pass rate rising to 98%.

Lincoln College Group, which includes Lincoln College, Newark College, and the Air & Space Institute (ASI), achieved a 91% pass rate across Level 3 technical training (including BTECs). This is 5% higher than the national average, and the Group saw an 8% increase in higher grades. The majority of the College’s T Level students also achieved high grades.

This year, we celebrated the success of all Level 3 learners, including those in Technical Training, A Levels and T Levels. The celebration event was designed to create a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. Complimentary food and refreshments were provided, and students received gifts as a token of recognition for their efforts.

This communal celebration provided an excellent opportunity for students to mark the conclusion of their college journey, reflecting on their accomplishments before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.

Deputy Principal Matt Vaughan said, "Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students across all disciplines. Your hard work and dedication have paid off, and as you embark on the next chapter of your educational journey, we couldn't be prouder. Congratulations to you all for your outstanding success.”

Kieran, an A-Level student in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, who initially attended sixth form, transferred to complete his A-Levels at college. He said: “The tutors at college massively supported me. I handed my tutor multiple drafts of my personal statement, and they were great throughout the whole process. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from them.”

Kieran will be heading to the University of Lincoln in September to pursue a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences, with hopes of becoming a secondary school science teacher in the future.

Teaching and support staff played a crucial role in the day’s events, offering guidance, encouragement, and celebrating alongside the students. Their presence provided an additional layer of support, ensuring that students felt valued and recognised for their hard work.

As students collected their results, there was a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation for the future. For many, this day marked the beginning of new adventures, whether that be in higher education, entering the workforce, or exploring other opportunities.

Anyone who has not secured a university place can still apply to study for a Career Degree at Lincoln College University Centre.
