These new changes in European privacy law, around data collection and analysis, will apply to every organisation in the UK, even after the UK leaves the European Union, any organisation that is not prepared could face fines of up to £20 million or 4% of annual global turnover, whichever is higher.
With high profile data and security leaks, including WannaCry fresh in the public’s mind, a need for a strong and proactive approach to GDPR and security should be, and will be a priority for every organisation.
Lincoln College are inviting businesses to join the discussion on how to begin planning for GDPR, what business changes organisations typically need to make, how to assess your readiness based on your current infrastructure and what solutions are a priority for you.
The event will take place at the Lincoln College site, Monks Road, Lincoln on Tuesday 17 April, between 10:00-14:00 and is FREE to register and attend.
Speakers will include Stefanie Jacobs, Technology Solutions Professional at Microsoft and Abilgail Williams, Senior Business Analyst at risual. The event will cover an overview of GDPR at Microsoft, implementation and technology, with an opportunity to add to the conversation with questions and answers.
